Cruise Guide
What is included in my cruise purchase?

The price of your cruise ticket includes your sea transportation, your stateroom, on board activities and entertainment, meals and snacks, drinks (non-alchoholic or specialty) and the chance to enjoy all that cruise life has to offer.

What's not included?

This varies per cruise line but typically the following are not included: Air transportation, medical services, on board purchases, shore excursions, photography, beauty salon/barber shop and spa services, gambling and porterage.

How early can I check in?

Check in time will be noted on your cruise documents. The earlier you arrive, the more time you will have to settle in and enjoy your day aboard.

What happens if we have a weather issue while at sea?

Each cruise line has contingency plans in place to ensure the safety of their passengers, and will accommodate them as best they can should there be any out of the ordinary circumstance beyond their control. We recommend you purchase travel insurance, which is a little investment for your overall peace of mind.

How does the tipping policy work?

Generally all tips are included in your total cruise price with the exception of your spa and salon services and possibly your Cabin Porter. If you would like to reward any attendant on board for exceptional service, it is customary to do so the last day or evening of the cruise. You can verify what is appropriate with the Information Desk on board.

How far in advance should I book an excursion?

You'll find the cruise line will have an array of excursion options for you to chose from. Ideally, make your decisions and purchases for excursions on the first day of the cruise to ensure space is available. The more popular excursions book fast.

Can I golf on a cruise?

Many cruise lines offer an electronic golf practice station to hone your skills. Generally, an excursion for a golf outing will be available. Check with the Information Desk.

How should I pack for a cruise?

Depending on your destination, pack according to the anticipated weather conditions including casual clothing and possibly semi-formal dinner clothing should the cruise have a "formal night". Generally, shorts are not allowed during evening dining - but check your cruise itinerary to be certain.

How is the shopping on a cruise ship?

Larger ships have more shopping than smaller ships, and land destinations have more shopping for gifts, clothing and necessities. Most cruise ships have a gift shop/mini-mart and jewelry. Clothing options are typically more casual attire.

How can someone reach me on the ship in case of an emergency?

Enjoy peace of mind while you are away from home. Give friends or relatives the ship's contact information on how to telephone you. First check the information provided with your cruise documents on how to contact the ship. Here is a list of numbers for your reference. They are subject to change, so always check your cruise documents or contact the cruise line to verify the latest emergency call numbers. Some cruise ships have an Internet Cafe, providing you with pay as you go access to email and the web.

If the ship's telephone number is not included in your documents, in some areas, you may be reached at
800-SEA-CALL.
